A good reason...

... to leave it to the professionals!

What was I thinking???  Well, I was thinking I could try and make a doll for my first (and only) niece.  But, oh my, I didn't think I could make one this ugly!

So, I think I will leave the doll making to Jennie at A Little Vintage who makes gorgeous, gorgeous dolls!   She will even custom make dolls using your child's special clothing.  In my case, I'm still looking for something to send to be made into an Elijah doll - such a cool idea, don't you think?

And this one can live in the hall cupboard!

  1. I think she looks sweet, I am sure your niece will love her. Handmade gifts are always the best- made with love :-)

  2. Thanks Lou - I guess with her being so young she wouldn't notice it's slightly misshapen head haha - before I put pigtails on it, it looked like a lamb!
That's so true about handmade gifts!

  4. Thanks Jo - the more I look at her, the less weird she starts to look although I think I now need a name for her - Gertrude maybe?

Thanks so much for the positive comments, it took so much practice and over coming frustration to start making the dolls!!!!!

  6. Thanks Jennie - my SIL loved it so that's all that really matters - hopefully Ella will enjoy it when she's a bit older!
